we have brought this to an extreme level of exquisite -- here in the united states. freedom of the press criticizes everything all the time. and we love. it's our system. wouldn't want it any other way. and so i think we can now bring that about but it requires a change in attitude and the part of government leaders to accept being criticized. we've seen some slip backward in recent times, who thought they were going to do this and realize hey, this is very uncomfortable, and have pushed back and are becoming less open to press criticism. you see it frequently, but i think that's part of the institution building. laws, institutions, free society, open society, the ability of nongovernmental institutions to function and do things that could be critical of the government, and above all freedom of the press, and resourced to courts. if you feel your rights have been violated, either commercial or in private activity. >> i completely agree with general powell has just said. i can even make two more comments. one on the constitution. let me take an example.
